A Women’s History Month to Remember 🌸
Women’s History Month was a beautiful reminder of the powerful, supportive community of women we’re honored to be part of. Throughout the month, we leaned into connection, creativity, and celebration—uplifting one another in ways that felt both intentional and inspiring.
We started with a virtual event to collectively write letters to women we admire. Tianna wrote a letter to honor her late maternal grandmother, Anne Dorsey, for her steadfast determination to create a family legacy in Anacostia, D.C., and I chose to write a letter to Dorothy Butler Gilliam, the first Black woman reporter at the Washington Post. Writing our letters was a simple yet meaningful way to reflect and express gratitude for the women who inspire us.

Then we had the joy of co-hosting a Coffee and Coloring meetup with Gladys Cooks of Just Love Self at PJs Coffee in Camp Springs. This gathering created space for us to slow down, tap into creativity, and celebrate ourselves and each other. Through coloring, conversation, and reflection, we were reminded that self-love is not only personal—it’s something we can nurture together in community.

To close out the month, we joined an incredible lineup of women artists and entrepreneurs at the Continent DC restaurant for a special Black Art Activated, where we had the opportunity to showcase our gifts and talents. Being surrounded by so many talented, driven women was both energizing and affirming; a true celebration of what it means to create, build, and thrive together.

We are deeply grateful for the spaces and people that made these moments possible. Thank you to Anita of @pjscoffeecampsprings, Alex Greene @alexactivated, and The Continent DC for intentionally creating environments where we can gather, connect, and experience meaningful community.
Women’s History Month may come to an end, but the celebration of women—our stories, our power, and our presence continues every day.
Here’s to uplifting, supporting, and celebrating each other always. 🤎✨
