Embracing Gratitude and Growth 🌿
We welcomed November with ease, positivity, and purpose at our Black Girl Gratitude Virtual Meetup! This gathering was inspired by our self-care card activity #32 – “Count Your Blessings,” which encourages creating a gratitude jar to reflect on what you’re most thankful for.

Our meetup began with a calming Intention Setting session led by Tianna Christine. We picked our Intention Word, “Evolve,” as a reminder to be thankful for growth. This word made us reflect on how grateful we are to see Melanin Queen Creative evolve as a brand and how our friendship has deepened as we’ve navigated life’s many chapters and built a business together.
Then, we explored how practicing gratitude can help with:
· Reinforcing positive thinking;
· Keeping us grounded;
· Reminding us what brings us joy; and
· Navigating challenges.
Next, we took time to reflect on meaningful gratitude prompts, such as:
· Who or what in my life brings me joy?
· What are the things I no longer take for granted?
· What achievements am I thankful for?
· What fond memories do I cherish?
After reflecting, it was time to share what we’re grateful for and show our gratitude jars! Andrea shared the jar she created with items from the Dollar Store and spoke about being thankful for moments of peace and for her loving family and friends.

Another attendee shared her story of creating a gratitude jar during a challenging time, expressing appreciation for the part-time job that supported her when she needed it most. She also showed us her dedicated gratitude space filled with inspirational cards. This is a wonderful idea we hadn’t thought of before!
Others shared their thankfulness for good health, community, and meaningful connections.

Before closing, Tianna shared a creative alternative—a virtual gratitude jar! Perfect for anyone who prefers to keep their reflections digitally.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for this heartwarming and inspirational meetup. 💛 Together, we celebrated not only what we have but also the strength that comes from supporting one another.
Have you created your own gratitude jar yet? We’d love to hear about it in the comments or tag us on Instagram!
